The 2022 MPSSAA Golf State Championships were held at the University of Maryland Golf Course on October 24 - 26. Although rain fell before the start of the championships and gray clouds stuck around, the weather managed to cooperate through the three days.
This year's championships gave us multiple repeat champions with Poolesville keeping their 2A/1A team title by defeating South Carroll by three strokes. On the girls side, both Helen Yeung of River Hill (4A/3A) and Olivia Cong of Poolesville (2A/1A) held onto their first place trophies, while boys 2A/1A champ Noah Wallace of North East-C remained on top. Even more impressive, the boys 4A/3A repeat champion, Benjamin Siriboury of River Hill, broke the tournament records for one-day and two-day scores, shooting a 64 (Day 1) and 132.
