2022 MPSSAA Softball Recap The 2022 softball state championships were hosted by the University of Maryland - College Park on May 28. Below is a recap of the regional and state results. State Championship Results Class 1A - No. 2 Allegany defeated No. 1 Patterson Mill, 3-2 Class 2A - No. 1 Calvert defeated No. 2 Rising Sun, 5-4 (8) Class 3A - No. 4 Linganore defeated No. 3 Chopticon, 9-8 (8) Class 4A - No. 2 Sherwood defeated No. 8 Severna Park, 21-5 (5) Championship Brackets The MPSSAA Softball Championships is a single-elimination tournament. The eight regional champions from each classification are reseeded into a State Quarterfinal following the last regional championship game. Seeding for the state quarterfinal is determined by regular season winning percentage.
