The MPSSAA held a Girl's Golf Challenge on Saturday, October 13th at Forest Park Golf Course. The day's events featured a number of activities promoting girl's golf in high school athletics. The event was open to all girl's playing on a public high school's golf team.
There was an 18-hole stroke play tournament for the better golfers, a 9-hole stroke play tournament for the average golfers, and a 3-hour clinic and skills challenge for up to 50 novice players. Awards were presented to the top three finishers in each of the tournaments. During the novice clinic, each station session culminated with a competitive ""Skills Challenge"" activity where awards were presented.
The top five finishers in the 18-hole stroke play were Diana Brown from Churchill who shot a 77, Devonne Richardson from Milford Mill who shot a 79, Cynthia Iselin from Churchill who shot an 82, Alex Brown from Churchill who shot an 82 and Pritha Goswami from Churchill who shot an 84.
The top three finishers in the 9-hole stroke play were Katie Pass from Winters Mill who shot a 49, Erin Gibbons from Urbana who shot a 51 and Dani Gold from Quince Orchard who shot a 54.
