A crowd of over 10,000 in attendance cheered as Old Mill won their 3rd state crown against Quince Orchard in a barn-burning Class 4A clash featuring high octane offense and hard hitting defense on Friday night in overtime, 36-35. On Saturday, Dunbar pulled down their eighth state title against a tenacious Perryville squad in the Class 1A tilt by a deceptive final score of 32-11. In a battle of two teams looking for their first State Championships in Class 2A, Middletown prevailed over Frederick Douglass-PG, 43-6. First and foremost, the MPSSAA wishes to thank the Maryland Stadium Authority and the Baltimore Ravens for their generosity, support, and cooperation in making M&T Bank Stadium available to us as a venue for the Finals. There are also a multitude of volunteers and workers behind the scenes at the stadium that we wish to thank. Without a committed and professional group of volunteers from across the state coming together as one, conducting this event would be impossible. Thanks too to the State Football Committee and each of the Region Tournament Directors for their assistance throughout the season and in the tournament's preliminary rounds. Together, we do make a difference!
