The MPSSAA is pleased to announce the appointment of Lucy Godfrey to the position of State Field Hockey Rules Interpreter effective July 1, 2023.  Ms. Godfrey replaces Lea Kusner who stepped down from the position after serving as the Field Hockey Rules Interpreter for eight years.

Ms. Godfrey has been a field hockey umpire for over 25 years, officiating the sport at both the high school level and across NCAA’s three divisions.  She has been a Regional Umpire Coordinator for USA Field Hockey where she has delivered clinics to train both rising and experienced umpires.  Currently, Ms. Godfrey is serving as an Umpire Manager for USA Field Hockey where she recruits and assigns umpires for their regional events.  She is also tasked with evaluating and providing feedback for their performance as they work to establish their rating level.

The MPSSAA would like to thank Ms. Kusner for her years of service for our high school field hockey community and welcome Ms. Godfrey to the team!
