The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) Board of Control met on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the BWI Marriott. The Board of Control heard reports from sport committees as well as took action on a number of agenda items.

The recommendation of Dr. Jeff Sullivan (Director of Systemwide Athletics, Montgomery County) as the next MPSSAA President and Debbie Basler (Supervisor of Interscholastic Athletics, Harford County) as the next President-Elect for 2024-2026 was accepted.
- A report from the Medical Advisory Committee meeting was given about a potential reworking of the participation physical form.
- More information was presented from the Cheerleading Taskforce as a move to a state level championship continues to be discussed.

A proposal from Washington County Public Schools to amend COMAR 13A.06.03.02 Eligibility and COMAR 13A.06.03.06 Classification was discussed. Of the 28 votes needed to move the proposal forward, 23 voted in favor, so the proposal was not recommended.
