The MPSSAA is saddened by the news of the passing of Roy Comer on 11/4.  Roy served as the Supervisor of Physical Education and Athletics in the Frederick County Public Schools from 1967-1990.  Not only did Roy serve this association as President and Treasurer, he was instrumental in the formation of the first state high school football tournament in Maryland and served fourteen years as our State Football Committee Director, along with representing Maryland on the National Federation of State High School Association (NFHS) Football Rules Committee during that time.

Roy Comer had a reputation of dedication, integrity, and constant striving to attain excellence in both education and athletics.  The students and players whose lives he has touched as well as his professional and community relationships with his peers, parents, and school system officials are truly his legacy.
