Congratulations to the 2008 State Volleyball champions as six days of tournament play came to an exciting close at the University of Maryland's Ritchie Coliseum Monday night. Enthusiastic crowds and athletic plays filled the arena as every point was battled and players on both sides of the net left it all out on the court. Every champion was pushed to their limit by the skill and hustle of their opponents which made spectating enjoyable for all.
The State Final results are as follows:
Friday, 11/14 -- Class 1A -- Poolesville defeated Glenelg (25-6, 25-7, 25-13)
  -- Class 2A -- Liberty defeated Rising Sun (25-17, 25-21, 25-19)
Monday, 11/17-- Class 3A -- Centennial defeated Towson (26-24, 25-18, 25-21)
-- Class 4A -- Broadneck defeated Thomas Johnson (25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 25-12)
