MPSSAA Basketball State Championship Central

Championship Bracket Information

The MPSSAA Basketball Championships will be a single-elimination tournament.   The eight regional champions from each classification will be reseeded into a State Quarterfinal following the last regional championship game.  Seeding for the state quarterfinal will be determined by regular season winning percentage.

• The eight region champions will be seeded 1-8 based on their regular season winning percentage used to seed each region. Ties among teams in the State Quarterfinals will be first broken by head-to-head competition to determine the higher seed. This applies if all tied teams meet the criteria. If head-to-head does not break the tie, a coin toss will be used to determine the order of seeding. 

Projected Tournament Schedule

The following is a projected championship schedule.  All games must be played on their designated date unless a graduation or inclement weather occur.  

• Region Quarterfinals - Friday, February 28 (Girls) / Saturday, March 1 (Boys) (Regional Sites)

• Region Semifinals - Monday, March 3 (Girls) / Tuesday, March 4 (Boys) (Regional Sites)

• Region Finals - Wednesday, March 5 (Girls) / Thursday, March 6 (Boys) (Regional Sites) - Tickets

*  NOTE: Region quarterfinal games scheduled for Saturday, March 1 may be played on Friday, February 28.  Every effort shall be made to avoid conflicts between the boys and girls games.  Local Supervisors of Athletics shall be consulted and will make the final decision when conflicts occur.  All other contests must be played on the date listed above.

• State Quarterfinals - Friday, March 7 (Girls) and Saturday, March 8 (Boys & Girls) (Regional Sites) - Tickets

• State Semifinals - Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 12 (Predetermined sites to come) - Tickets

• State Championships - Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15 (U. of Maryland - College Park) - Tickets

Ticket Information For:

Region Quarterfinal Games:  Admission is $6.  Ages 6 and under are free.  Ticket sales are determined by the host school.

Region Semifinal Games:  Admission is $6.  Ages 6 and under are free.  Ticket sales are determined by the host school.
