A hot and sultry 2016 State Tennis Tournament wrapped up play on Saturday by crowning four new state champions while Thomas S. Wootton's Miranda Deng won her third consecutive girls singles title. Congratulations to all of the student-athletes that qualified for this year's tournament and a tip of the cap the the champions that took on all challengers and rose to the top. A very special "thank you" to the staff at Olney Manor Park for their utmost cooperation in holding our event for the first time in their facility. Another thank you goes to our State Tennis Committee, led by Jim Rodriguez, and the other volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the region and state tournament to provide the best experience possible for our student-athletes. Their work behind the scenes is commendable and very much appreciated. We wish everyone a restful summer and hope to see you back on the courts next spring!!
