The State Wrestling Tournament concluded its inaugural run at the Show Place Arena in front of a highly energetic and appreciative audience where last year's team champions in each classification successfully defended their titles. South Carroll took home their third consecutive state crown in Class 2A/1A while Damascus collected their fifth state title in Class 4A/3A. In addition, six wrestlers joined the select group of those with multiple state titles. The MPSSAA extends a heartfelt and appreciative "thank you" to not only the State Wrestling Committee led by Director Brian Layman and Tournament Director Michael Duffy, but to the huge cadre of workers and volunteers that pulled together and seamlessly managed an event of this magnitude. We would also like to thank the Show Place Arena for their cooperation and support in providing such a great venue.
