There were no nail-biting pitcher's duels this year as the 2017 State Champions prevailed over their competition with impressive displays of offensive power and skill. Bohemia Manor (1A), North Caroline (2A), C. Milton Wright (3A), and Northwest (4A) all took home their fourth, sixth, sixth, and first state titles, respectively as they left no doubt in anyone's mind that they knew how to hit the ball hard. Congratulations to all of our participants, coaches, officials, and spectators for another memorable season. Our thanks go to the athletic department, support staff, and grounds crew at the University of Maryland - College Park for their hospitality, cooperation, and hard work as our tournament finals site. In addition, we 'd like to thank the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks for the use of Bachman Park and to the staff at Bachman Park for doing an exceptional job hosting the State Semifinals. Last but not least, a hearty thank you to the members of State Softball Committee, led by Lynn Pitonzo, for their invaluable time and effort all season long. We hope to see everyone back at on the diamond next year for more of the impressive displays of hitting!
