  • In the Class 1A game, Patterson Mill was hoping to win their first state championship, but it was Brunswick that came out on top to capture their 7th title.
  • Class 2A Middletown won their second state championship, with the other coming from 2017. They defeated Glenelg, a school that had only one loss in seven tries until this year.
  • Colonel Zadok Magruder had never made it to the final game. As a matter of fact, the school had only made it as far as the semifinal one time in 1977.  They were able to win the Class 3A championship in this first trip.
  • Walt Whitman was able to make it to the final game for the first time, but Leonardtown made sure to foil the plan in the Class 4A game by capturing their second state championship.  The Raiders other championship was in 1987.
