The 2024 MPSSAA Lacrosse State Championships took place at Mustang Stadium on the campus of Stevenson University on May 21 - 23.  This year's version saw five schools send both their boys and girls teams to the finals.  Unique to Class 4A, the same two schools competed in both title games.

Of the five schools involved, Fallston (1A), Glenelg (2A), and Severna Park (3A), came out victorious in both of their games.  Broadneck (4A) and Urbana (4A) split with the Broadneck girls and Urbana boys winning the titles.

A few things to note from the girls’ tournament:

  • Proving that their boys team don't have the title of lacrosse royalty at their school all to themselves, the Severna Park girls captured their 16th championship, breaking the tie with Mount Hebron for most championships won.
  • Broadneck captured their fourth consecutive championship and seventh overall.
  • This is the 22nd appearance in the state tournament for the Dulaney girls team, breaking the tie with Mount Hebron for most appearances.

And of course a couple notes from the boys’ tournament:

  • Already number one with most consecutive and total state championships, Severna Park stretched out their lead over Hereford by one more, capturing their eighth straight state championship and 13th overall.
  • Fallston won their eighth championship, earning them a spot in the record book for third most championships, tying them with Dulaney.

The sportsmanship awards were voted upon by state committee members, region tournament directors, and other coaches volunteering their time to run the state tournament.

Boys - RON BELINKO Sportsmanship Award:  TOWSON GENERALS

Girls - MELBA WILLIAMS Sportsmanship Award:  QUEEN ANNE'S LIONS
