Five out of eight returning state champions successfully defended their 2016 crowns at the State Meets this weekend at Morgan State University, which was no easy task indeed. The Boonsboro Girls (1A), Lackey Girls (2A), Charles H. Flowers Girls (4A), Oxon Hill Boys (3A), and Northwest Boys (4A) all prevailed over some stiff competition. Joining these five in the circle of team champions were the Boonsboro Boys (1A) with their first ever state title, the Century Boys (2A) with their third crown, and the Frederick Girls (3A) with their first state title in 21 years!
