2017 State Dual Wrestling Champions Successfully Defend Last Year's Titles!!

The 2017 State Dual Meet Wrestling Tournament has come to another exciting conclusion as both of last year's champions were successful in the defense of their crowns. In Class 2A/1A, Middletown won their 2nd overall and consecutive title while in Class 4A/3A, Damascus continued their impressive run of 5 consecutive state titles and 7th overall. 2016 State Wrestling Champs Are The Toughest Of The Tough!!

The State Wrestling Tournament concluded its inaugural run in front of a highly energetic and appreciative audience where last year's team champions in each classification successfully defended their titles. South Carroll took home their third consecutive state crown in Class 2A/1A while Damascus collected their fifth state title in Class 4A/3A. 2106 Region Wrestling Tournament Results

The wrestling post-season got underway as eight region tournaments were held across the state on Friday, 2/26 and Saturday, 2/27. There are four regions in each classification (4A/3A and 2A/1A) of which half held one-day events while the other half had two-day events. Damascus HS and Middletown HS Win 2016 State Dual Meet Wrestling Titles!!

The freezing temps did not keep Damascus HS from blazing through the competition and winning a 4th consecutive State Class4A/3A Dual Wrestling crown, their 6th overall. In Class 2A/1A, Middletown HS improved upon last year's runner-up finish by taking their first state title, while Oakland Mills took home the first ever State Duals Sportsmanship Award. High School Sports Participation Increases Again In Latest NFHS Survey!!

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has just announced that the number of participants in high school sports increased for the 26th consecutive year in 2014‐15 – topping the 7.8 million mark for the first time – according to the annual High School Athletics Participation Survey. 2015 Region Wrestling Tournament Results

Eight region tournaments took place Friday, 2/27 and Saturday, 2/28 with four regions in each classification (4A/3A and 2A/1A). The top four place winners in each weight class qualify to compete for a state title for the final time at Cole Field House on the campus of the University of Maryland-College Park on Friday, 3/6 and Saturday, 3/7. The 2015 State Dual Meet Wrestling Championships came to a hard-fought conclusion at North Point HS on Saturday, 2/14 as Damascus successfully defended their 4A/3A title for the third year in a row and their fifth title overall. Class 2/1A featured a battle between two schools making their first appearance in the State Duals with Oakland Mills prevailing over Middletown, 30-27.
