    2018 State Golf Champions Remain Cool Under Pressure!!

    The air may have been chilly but the play sizzled as the 2018 State Golf Championships came to a close at the venerable University of Maryland - College Park Golf Course this afternoon with some playoff action deciding the two boys titles. On the team side, Marriotts Ridge continued their stranglehold on the Class 2A/1A title with their 7th consecutive state crown and in Class 4A/3A, Urbana won their 4th state golf title.     If you're a high school senior dedicated to learning, leading, and performing, you have exactly what it takes to become a Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship winner! The deadline for Phase I of the scholarship application process is 6 PM Eastern Time on 10/17. Applicants will also need to select a teacher, counselor, or administrator that is unrelated to them to be their application reviewer.     MPSSAA Mourns The Passing of Pioneer Patricia Barry

    We are extremely sad to share the news that Patricia "Pat" Barry, longtime Coordinator of Montgomery County Public School Athletics (MCPS), passed away Thursday night, 9/6. Pat was a champion for equity and a true pioneer in the field of athletic administration, serving not only MCPS but the MPSSAA in multiple capacities. Pat served as MPSSAA President from 1994-1996 and on many State Tournament Committees, including the MPSSAA Girls Basketball State Tournament.

The celebration was highlighted by this year's guest speaker Josh Carroll, the Maryland State Teacher of the Year. Also providing pearls of wisdom for this year's class of recipients was 2017 scholarship recipient Katie Zehner from Bethesda-Chevy Chase HS and Yale University.
