The fall sports season came to a rousing conclusion at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis as an impressive slate of eight state football finalists put it all out on the field in front of vocal and supportive fans in their quest to bring home a state title.  Four were successful as one school won their first ever state crown, two won for a third time, and the fourth for a seventh time!  Select the desired links below for the State Finals results, official game stats, and the final week #10 point standings for 2018.

Championship weekend kicked-off on Thursday with a last second thriller in Class 3A as Franklin edged Linganore with a field goal as time ran out, winning by a score of 17-14 for their third state crown.  On Friday, Class 4A took the field and in a high scoring see-saw affair, Quince Orchard prevailed over a scrappy North Point squad by a score of 40-33 for their first title since 2007 and third overall.  Saturday’s doubleheader action concluded the fall sports season as Class 1A got things underway first with a hard-fought win by Fort Hill for their seventh state title over Frederick-Douglass-PG, 20-8.  Douglass didn't go home empty handed as in addition to the runner-up trophy, they also won the John H. Cox Tournament Sportsmanship Award.  Well done, gentlemen!! Class 2A followed with a battle of unbeatens won by Oakdale for their first ever state championship by defeating Glenelg, 35-7.  Don’t forget to relive every exciting play of every game with unlimited free viewing and DVD purchases, available under normal circumstances, within days of the original games on the NFHS Network.

The MPSSAA extends congratulations to all of the schools that participated in this year's tournament and we appreciate your cooperation and support throughout as we battled the weather elements the entire season.  We would like to acknowledge our State Semifinal host sites and their athletic department staffs, for another high quality job.  Our sincerest gratitude to the State Football Committee, especially Committee Director Michael Calhoun and Tournament Director Ryan Hines, and all of the region tournament directors for another outstanding job of planning leading up to this culminating event.  Once again, we cannot thank the United States Naval Academy Athletic Department and their staff enough for their hospitality, cooperation, and support in working with us to provide first class facilities for our football championships.  And last but not least, thank you fans for your support. Hope to see you on the gridiron again next fall!
