2015 State Dual Meet Wrestling Champs Crowned!!

The 2015 State Dual Meet Wrestling Championships came to a hard-fought conclusion at North Point HS on Saturday, 2/14 as Damascus successfully defended their 4A/3A title for the third year in a row and their fifth title overall. Class 2/1A featured a battle between two schools making their first appearance in the State Duals with Oakland Mills prevailing over Middletown, 30-27. 2015 State Wrestling Tourney To Commemorate The Storied Past Of Venerable Cole Field House!!

The MPSSAA State Wrestling Committee will be commemorating their 12th and final State Wrestling Tournament to be held at historic Cole Field House. As part of the festivities, an invitation is being extended to all former MPSSAA State Wrestling Champions who have won at least one of their titles at Cole to be introduced on the floor just prior to the start of the State Final bouts on Monday evening, March 9th in conjunction with the "Parade of Champions". Seven Of Eight Region Dual Wrestling Champs Are Undefeated!!

Qualifying teams and individuals now move on to compete in the State Championship meets scheduled for Monday, February 16th and Tuesday, February 17th at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover.

The Football Finals have punctuated the end of the Fall season as three teams successfully defended their titles in Class 4A with Northwest, Class 3A with Franklin, and Class 1A with Fort Hill. Joining the State Champion ranks for the first time was Frederick Douglass of Prince George's County in Class 2A. Douglass also won the John Cox Tournament Sportsmanship Award.
